The Composer

Fernando
Jonás

Composer · Sound Designer · Spain

Fernando Jonás began composing before he began speaking — or so his mother insists. He studied at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, then pursued film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

His scores are built slowly, from a single melodic fragment — sometimes a found sound, sometimes a phrase hummed at 3am — that grows into the full orchestral language of a project. He rarely uses templates.

Working entirely with sample libraries and virtual instruments from his Spain-based studio, he has scored short films, indie features, video games and trailer work for directors across Spain and beyond.

Technical Setup

The rack.

A working palette built over twelve years. Tools matter, but only insofar as they get out of the way of the music.
